Jonathan Cahn is a Messianic Jewish pastor and author from the United States. He is best known for his 2011 novel The Harbinger. This book relates the catastrophic 9/11 assaults in the United States to the destruction of the Kingdom of Israel in ancient Israel. In 2020, he released The Harbinger II: The Return, a sequel to The Harbinger.
Cahn was born and raised in a Jewish family in the state of New York. As a child, he frequented the synagogue as one of his parents was a Holocaust survivor. Cahn became a Messianic Jew when he was twenty years old. Cahn is the pastor of Beth Israel, a worship center based in New Jersey.
Glenn Beck praised The Harbinger as “an incredible story” that enabled people to have a meaningful conversation about God’s role in modern America. However, in an interview with Cahn, Colorado pastor Bob Enyart pointed out that what he stated in the book was not a “harbinger” of things to come, and that making such claims can harm Christians’ testimony.
In 2020, Cahn made a comeback to the Harbinger in The Harbinger II: The Return. The plot delves into many riddles and questions not addressed in the first book, such as “Has the revelation continued?” or “Has the mystery progressed to a more critical stage?
