Mick Herron is a crime and thriller writer born in Newcastle, England. He earned his bachelor’s degree in English from Balliol College, Oxford. In 2003, he made his debut in fiction with “Down Cemetery Road”, featuring Zoe Boehm, an Oxford private detective.
Many of Herron’s novels take place in Oxford, where he lives. One of his books, Smoke & Whispers, is set in his birth city of Newcastle.
In 2010, Herron abandoned the Zoe Boehm and Sarah Tucker series in favor of the Slough House series. The Slough House series revolves around a group of intelligence service agents who have been taken off active duty for making mistakes while on the job.
Currently, Mick Herron lives in Oxford and writes full-time.
