Jana DeLeon is the New York Times bestselling author of comedy, mystery, and romance novels, most known for her Miss Fortune Mystery series.
She grew up in Southwest Louisiana, surrounded by alligators and waterways. Her family had a camp on a bayou just off the coast of the Gulf of Mexico that could only be reached by boat. The rope hammock hung in the shade on a large terrace that stretched out over the sea. Jana spent her time reading novels here. Jana along with her brother spent hours in a boat scouring the waters, researching various birds, nutria, and alligators. She wants you to know that no animals were harmed in the course of this “research.” Jana has never solved a crime like her characters, but she remains optimistic.
Jana DeLeon is a former CFO who left the corporate world to pursue her passion for writing. Her books are all set in Louisiana. She adores the culture, the freedom that comes with being on the bayou, and all of the explorations she had as a child. She is fascinated by the dynamics of tiny communities and the people that live there.
She now lives in Dallas, Texas with her spouse and the world’s most spoiled sheltie.
